Another FS latch snapped off

Hello, this is my first visit to this forum. Last night, to my surprise, one of the screen catches of my FS115E snapped off. I've only had it a couple of weeks.

I'm moving to Nairobi in three week's time. If I decide to get it fixed, what are the chances that Sony are going to get it returned to me before I leave, based on experience here?

Cheers.

It took them 4 working days to replace my FS215S's broken latch with one thats not breaking. You should have no problem, just contact them:

Thanks. Out of interest, did they replace the catches with exactly the same, or is/are the new one(s) actually any stronger?

You´re lucky: It took them 3 weeks and 1 day until now and I don´t have my notebook back!!! I am really pissed off right now.

Tell them that youu have waited long enough and need a replacement computer straight away. Five weeks is an unreasonable amount of time to have to wait.

If you can't get a sensible response from the initial support advisor then ask to speak to a supervisor and then a customer care manager. The customer care manager has the authority to issue a replacement computer.

Been using them for weeks now - and they are still there. ;-]

So on the bright side the problem should be fixed when you guys get your FS's back.

Excellent advice, those with broken latches should definately ask for this to be done

Hi, When you say Latch do you mean the screen hinges? I'm only asking because I have just taken delivery of my new FS215Z and was wondering which part I should keep my eye on:smileyhappy:
