Big Hello - new to the Vario World + FEW Questions

hey folks,

i m absolutly new to this site. bought a 40gb Vaio and think this little thing is stunning..

But there are a few Questions that i´ve got:

MP3 Support - I ve installed new Firmware, downloaded new Software, but still i cant copy MP3 Files directly, without decoding, to the VAIO.
why that?
thought Sony made it happen with the new Firmware to copy directly MP3 Files.

Any Extras? - are there any usefull extras (programmes, plugins) that i can install to make the VAIO more unique. More Color-Plugins for example.

Picture Viewing - big aspect. its a bit hard to use that feature. No Overview, no possibility to "scroll" fast through picture archives.
how do you handle that?

Yes the new update does allow direct mp3 transfers.

I think you should check the version of the softwares and firmware via the actual VAIO Pocket as you might not have updated them correctly.

As with the pictures, yes its a shame their isnt the option to scroll through the pictures using thumbnail images as this would be fast and very accurate, but maybe we will get an update to advance this onto our VAIO Pocket.

hopefully there will be a new update with some new and necessary features.

so whats up with MP3 Direct Transfer now?
why its not possible to drag and drop with "VAIO music transfer" programe?
or do i need another programe? or create another folder on the VAIO and copy the MP3 Files direct to it?

look at SS3.1 transfer options it should be direct transfert.
and i think that some particular mp3 files (not recognized by SS) are coded in atrac

i do have SS Version 2.3.00.11120, the upgraded version, and cant pick another format than ATRAC. Same with " VAIO Music Transfer" Programe.

I'm in exactly the same position. I've just bought a Vaio Pocket today. I've updated the firmware and I'm running the same software as you - freshly downloaded. However, there appears to be no way of getting mp3 files onto the device without conversion to Atrac in the process.

Disappointing really.

sorry Hornby, as far as i can remember, you´ve just said that i need new Firmware (3.xx) and thats it.

I do have that Firmware Update, and it still dont work.
Sorry, did i get something wrong?
