I'm trying to sort this problem remotely... User states when the correct hot key combination is used, he gets this on his laptop screen:-
Hot Key Client!
! Not available with current display settings.
He's tried changing the screen resolution but it appears to make no difference. No signal on the external monitor at all. Monitor works fine when attached to another machine.
What am I mising here? Or is there some additional software I need?

You may need to look at the video controller options in the advanced display properties. Go to the Intel Graphics tab and select the Graphics Properties icon. Click the devices tab ¿ here you can select monitor, notebook, dual display clone or extended desktop.
Also make sure that the notebook is powered down and the AC adaptor removed before connecting the external monitor.
