DVD burning problem on K115s

Vaio is a K115s.
Has anyone managed to burn a DVD recordable on the Matshita UJ-820d? Mines does burn any DVD+RW without ANY problems, but, a DVD+R does burn without warnings, but is empty after completing.?:smileycry:
I don't get it. Does this makes sense? What are your opinions/experiences?

Thanx in advance.

What kind of recordable media are you using? It sounds to me like the recorder function works fine, but there's some kind of problem with the disc you are using. I could be wrong though.

If you go for Ritek Grade 4 media you can't go wrong really.

I've tried several media. Most strange is, in my opinion, that the DVD+RW Philips disc works fine, but the DVD+R disc of the same brand doesn't do it.
So, another strange thing is that when I burn files on the DVD+R, it's also not a problem............for now it looks like the drive won't burn DVD movies on a DVD+R, but it does on a DVD+RW, whatever brand I use............

Maybe, it could also have to do something with the burn application in combination with the drive. I use Gear Pro 6.02..........?

Never heard of Gear Pro...

Remember that RW disks are a lot lighter than R disks, so maybe the disks you use are not reflecting enough?

Solved the problem. It's not the media, neiter the burner. It's a combination of Gear Pro Mastering Edition authoring software and the hardware, I think. When I use Nero 6, I can also burn DVD+R. So, I should use anything else then Gear, I think........

Thanx for the reactions!

Nero is the better software.

well, nero 6 seems to be very bugy, so, don't know if it's better, but, in this workaround, it is.............
