WinDVD should be preinstalled on your VAIO. You should find it on your recovery DVD too. Or you could buy the full version of WinDVD on the WinDVD site. If you have Nero, then you could buy the MPEG2 plugin. Then you could watch DVDs with NERO too. The same with Quicktime Pro.
But the WinDVD plugin which came with your VAIO, is enough for watching DVDs.
LOL, I'm out off topic:smileygrin:
BS Player is excellent and included in this is a pre amp (right click the audio selection) Uninstall all previous players and tick off all the selections offered and bob's you uncle perfect picture and sound

Crow matey, buy a cheap sub woofer amp and some good slave speakers. I paid like £16 for an OMNI Subwoofer preamp and a mate gave me a pair of Sony SRS ASC speakers. I carry them in my swish Vaio carry case and the sound is sweet and loud. The speakers in the laptops are a bit tinny but good for what they are.
your mean USB-Speaker ???
Awwwwe, cheap subwoofer amps are horrible. A good Sub-Amp with 100watts sinus should start at 200¿. For approx 100¿, you could find some nice woofers.
Mivoc has some nice amps for less money. Other good brands are Inosic, Thel, Vincent, Thomesson and some more.
Crow,
No, just a small set of amplified speakers.
