I took this pc in order to work with photoshop, primiere, etc,etc.
But, it does not look as fast as it should be(2.8 - 512 RAM).
Most of the time the Task Monitoring shows 100% when I try to do something.
Have you swept it for spyware?
I have set the power option to performance.
It is getting better.
What sort of operations are you doing in Photoshop?
The power option is actually just the fan speed, so I suspect there may be a placebo thing going on here.
Performance=More fan Quiet=less fan.
Then again I suppose it's possible that your laptop was overheating so speeding up the fan cooled it and made it run better.......
Aaah but Tyger - when the fan is on fast, the CPU can do more processing as it's colder.
I had no idea the fan controlled the function of the CPU, I thought it was the other way around. Now I know.
I'd recommend doing a thorough spyware check using Ad-aware SE and Spybot, then come back if it's still slow.
It's a bit of both, the CPU puts the fan into a higher RPM to help it process...
When I used InterVideo WinDVD, the only way to play DVD's was to use performance mode. DVD is a suppose a very intensive process, so is using Adobe's software (which is quite demanding...).
True.
