why are there new models they are the same spec as the S3,
Because Sony can sell the old model for a new price. That is my opinion about that.:smileytongue:

I'm sure they aren't exactly the same, I expect by law they can't simply pretend it's a new model.
As has been observed here before, it is a tradition of Sony to make tiny changes and then call it a new model. On occasion, believe it or not, they have even dropped the specification and called it a new model. I know all manufacturers do it to some extent, but I don't recall noticing anything quite that bad before lol.
I'm only laughing because it's slightly funny in an I-can't-believe-they-do-that way. I'm sure it's not at all funny if you paid more for the latest model and then found it.
They seem to release a new model every 3 months - and the S series has had a new version made probably because of revisions to hadware and BIOS.
Also they can keep track of when they were bought
I'd be much happier if they highlighted the changes from the last model as well as just listing the specs.
They don't want to put customers off by saying "yeah we fixed that hot spot on the bottom of the laptop, now your legs won't burn off like with the S3..."
Or 'We took out the wireless features and cut the HD size by a third, but it's a bit cheaper this time round'
LOL or "we got plastic from Tesco bags instead of Netto for the latches"
Haha. It'll be "NEW: Support by Kee-Lo" next time, you watch. One of those nice round stickers with your face on.
I can't wait for the royality cheques then ....
