Problem: Mobile data slow

Hello everybody

So since about a week my mobile data began to feel uncomfortably slow. I began to take some measures with the ookla speedtest and my results where around 0.20 Mbps download speed. According to my provider I should have 1 Mbps and I haven't reached my data quota yet (More than 50% left). So I started to try some things. Classical turn off and on again. Switched from 3G, which I normally use, to 4G and back. Downloaded new APN settings. Didn't help so I went to my provider. They gave me a new SIM. Tried that out and still nothing. So I searched further in the web and this forum for solutions. I found some posts, which also describe problems with the mobile data connection. According to these a repair/reset of the phone would help. So I did a repair over the PCC and the probelm is still here. At this point I don't know further. Should I try a full reset rather than just a repair over the PCC? Is it possible that an app on the phone causes this problem?

My last option would be to send the phone in since I still have guarantee (The phone is less than half a year old). What do you think?

Greetings

This seems like a network coverage issue.

If it's not the network coverage issue then it could be an app acting up, boot on safe mode and reply back

Thank you for your quick response. It's not a network coverage issue because I experienced the problem at several places. So I tried booting on safe mode. I tested the speed on http://speedtest.moobiloo.com/ and I still get the same mobile data speed.

Update: So another thing I tried today is to put my SIM into my old Samsung Galaxy Nexus i9250 and test the speed there. The speed was the same as on the Sony, so it seems now again more like a problem from my provider. So I called them and they looked in their systems and restartet the SIM in the network. Didn't solve the problem either and they say there is no problem with their system. Now they have forwarded the case to a more specific department, which should contact me in a few days. They also advised me to put another SIM with a different number of relative or a friend into my phone and check if the problem still occurs that way. Since I just have iPhone users with their special SIM around me I can't do this today and have to wait till at least tomorrow.

It begins to look like a very odd case. I hope my provider doesn't play a silly game with me.

Greetings

Keep us updated, carriers/network providers could be frustrating

Update: So today I put the SIM of my sister into my phone and checked the speed. It was faster! So it must be a "problem" caused by my network provider. I will wait for their call tomorrow or I will call them. I'm slowly getting furious about this case.
