Transfer data to SD card function - not logical.

The function CHANGES THE DATE OF THE FILES.
I bought my Xperia Z last May 2013. I decided to go for it vs Galaxy S4 because of its price with similar function. But now I starting to regret. There are simple functios that are not logical, and tranferring data/photo/video from internal to SD is one of them.
I recently hit the treshold of my internal memory and decided to move the photos and videos to SD. Everything went well, so as it seemed. But when I tried to view the photos/videos, they are out of order. Worse, when I looked at the dates on individual photos, it wasnt the date it was taken, but instead the date it was "tranferred". Whoever designed this was so STUPID! In all OS, when copying or moving files, the date is left INTACT. The only consolation that I have is that when I viewed the file in a pc, the "date taken" on photos are still there. But for the videos, I lost it forever. So I would never be able to tell exactly when my videos where taken. For Sony people: the file date is there for a reason!
I will never ever again use that function. And for my next phone, I now know which phone to exclude in my shortlist.

What did you use to view the photos after they were transferred, a third party file manager or the native Album app?

I first viewed the photos and videos on the native album app. The I installed the Fish Bowl album. Both has the same order.
Its not so more as a problem order, its the change of date. Is there a way for me to undo this to revert back to the original dates?

Well, I think what date a program uses to sort files depends on the program. What is the order of your files in PC? Does PC correctly sort your files in the order of date of taking the photos when you choose such an option? If so, you don't have to worry. For the album app in your phone to do so, you may try copying your photos from your PC to your phone again. Usually the album will sort the files based on the dates they were taken. Also try clearing data of Album app at Settings--Apps--All--Album--Clear data. It will delete all your preferences and thumbnail cache, but not the photos themselves, but just be on the safer side and do a backup of your photos first.
