Hi...
Up until Sunday, my Sat Nav on either Co Pilot or Google Navigation was perfect - it knew exactly where I was and was incredibly accurate.
On Sunday, for some reason, both sat nav apps can't seem to pin point my location and think I'm up to 30 feet away from where I actually am.. which then has a problem with navigation as it thinks I'm on another street.
I tried re-installing the phone software (using PC Companion, so it was completely a clean install) and this still hasn't helped.
Can anyone help me?
Within 30 feet--about 10metres: that sounds pretty accurate to me! Within how many feet/metres was it before?
GPS works correctly when you are in an open space, provided that sky is not so cloudy. Another case is that you may have set the phone to get your location based on Wireless Networks. Go to Settings> Security and Location and make sure that Use Wireless Networks option is disabled.
Sorry, my mistake, 30 metres.
It thinks i'm on another road, so it's clearly not accurate.
Before it could pinpoint me if I were standing in the corner of my garden on google maps.
Hi Er.Kannan,
I've been using the sat nav to travel the whole UK, and never had a problem.
Now it can't even tell that I'm on the Motorway, it seems to think I'm in a field, whether the sky is clear or not.
Go to Settings> Security and Location and make sure that Use Wireless Networks option is disabled.
Have you done it? If proper GPS signal is not detected the phone may use the Network tower to show your location. Another fact is that GPS accuracy may vary due to certain security reasons also. It may not be accurate near government buildings and other classified areas.
It's strange because for the last 6 months all of the options were ticked and it worked fine.
Wireless Networks, GPS Satellites, Assisted GPS and share with Google - all ticked.
I've been from the North West of the country to the South East and so have been in lots of places, but it still isn't working, so I don't think it is a location or a weather issue
Give it a try by unchecking the option.
Try to install GPS Status and see if it will works. If doesn't, go to options> sensors> manage a-gps state> reset and see if after that it works.
By the way, what is your GPS time to get a position?
Do you use any data plan(A-GPS), or just the GPS?
Hey guys, your talking about Xperia X10 or mini, because in my Xperia i can't find any sensors. And one more my GPS is not warking at all, i have rooted my mb maybe it's because of that? because i know this mb very good and i know that settings are set correctly, i turned off wireless detection, Agps is on. I had second xperia x10 without root and it was working very very good. i had black one, now i have white one. as i know there is no difference between them.
